How French Language Acquisition with Learners Progresses:https://bilingualkidspot.com/2018/09/19/5-stages-of-second-language-acquisition/

Encourage. Enhance. Promote. Succeed. Have Fun!

I'm glad you have come to see my blog and I hope that we can both collaborate to help your child improve in French and gain a strong desire to want to learn as much as they can about the French culture. Together, we can share ideas and make a plan to encourage, enhance and promote higher learning in order to help your child succeed and especially to make learning fun. With the use of technology, I hope we can inspire your child to have more fun with French and to want to be a life-long learner. Please check my site regularly for any tools, sites or resources to help your child in their progression in the French language.

Here are some ideas to help ensure your child is encouraged and promoted to have fun and succeed in their French language learning

  • Meet your child's teacher and have regular correspondence, either through Google Classroom or other forms of communication
  • Check your child's progress through Google Classroom site and remember to subscribe to updates
  • Show an interest in what your child is doing and provide encouragement and support
  • Have a positive attitude towards French and incorporate this positive attitude towards their learning
  • Be involved in activities at home and in the community, access resources (music, books, cds, movies with sub-titles, history of French cultures, etc,.) to show your child that French is an active language not just learnt in school
  • Collaborate with your child's teacher and use games and activities to stimulate learning and have fun in French. Ask your teacher for ideas and activities to help progress in French
  • Enhance your child's self-esteem and create good work habits at home and provide motivation to help them learn in order to succeed
  • Use technology to stimulate and create more interest in learning French
  • If possible, travel to French communities or countries and allow your child to practice and see that French is alive around the world! Allowing your child to practice in French will build their self-esteem and also improve their listening and oral skills
